​​About the Wellbeing Service at Windaroo Valley State High

The Wellbeing Team is made up of these people: 

  • Guidance Officers

  • Youth Support Co-ordinator (YSC)

  • School Based Youth Health Nurse (SBYHN)

  • Chaplain, Teacher Aide

The Wellbeing Team work closely with students, their families, and teachers. They do this in order to provide a wide range of support to students. 

These include:

  1. Working directly with students and teachers, support personnel, family and other specialists/professionals

  2. Providing guidance and counselling services to students and their families

  3. Performing case management and referral services to optimise students' access and engagement in education

  4. Preparing and implementing professional and personal skill development programs for administrators, teachers and parents

  5. Working collaboratively with other school-based support personnel to assess and address the needs of students

  6. Planning or assisting in planning support programs that can help students achieve positive outcomes

  7. Identifying factors that can be barriers to the learning and development of students

  8. Supporting the personal and social development of students

  9. Providing advice about education and career pathways

  10. Small group, year-level, and whole-school socioemotional support programs.
