Unique Student Identifier (USI) Number Requirement
From 1 January 2015, the Australian Government requires all students undertaking Vocational Education and Training (VET) to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), including school RTOs, must have a valid USI for students before issuing a student with a qualification or statement of attainment. If a student does not have a USI the RTO cannot issue the qualification or statement of attainment.
The USI will seamlessly link information about a student's VET achievements, regardless of where they studied. This will make it easier for students and RTOs to find and collate an individual's VET achievements.
A student requiring a USI will need to click here: https://www.usi.gov.au/students/get-a-usi .

A SAT can provide students with opportunities in:

- Paid employment
- Development of employment and personal skills.
Students wanting a SAT should be prepared to make the following commitments:
- Work minimum one day per week with employer (Monday)
- Complete training and assessment as delivered by the RTO
- Manage their academic subjects at school in order to complete their senior studies successfully
- Attend school on all other school days
- Advise all parties of any issues that may impact the completion of their SAT
